The Overview

My mind is racing at a tremendous rate of speed
Through yesterday, today, headlong to where I cannot see.
Am I hoping to put it all together somehow,
To form some picture that will clarify the now?

But can I, even now, explain completely why
I took a certain route with only an uncertain sigh?
Youth has no memories of experience or precedence
So each day is lived in only our ignorant confidence.

When the ignorance of youth is long gone past
The times of living just for an occasional blast
Are gone as well. Then life reels by in panoramic view
And you hope for glimpses of the ‘”who” and “why” of you.
